Yeah this snow has been a burden this year. Looks to be another 3 weeks till I can get some good color from a place. I've managed about 3 grams with lots of hard work in little producing areas. But it is something and the gym would have cost me more and been more uninteresting for the workouts I am getting.

Place was amazing for huge finds with a metal detector, but they also had some other equipment in there to work the tailings. How would you like to "stumble" on this little 32.2oz beauty?

Looks like the place is now for sale if you have a cool $3M http://www.moorecreek.com

I can't even imagine the excitement I would be feeling after unearthing a nugget like that!!

Thanks for posting the pics of the nuggets, I never get tired of seeing pictures of nuggets.

I have an update for this post.

The gold in the last 5 days totaled just under 1/2 oz. .47 oz to be exact.

I worked with the guys and found areas that sampled well at various depths. In the first 2 days we got .15 OZ. Day 3 we kinda took a bit easy I drove back home to get some more tools to produce and speed things up.

Several pickers were starting to be found. Pliers were needed to get some of the pieces out. Yesterday the last day I was with them before my drive to Oregon then to work our last cleanup had a nugget. A pretty one as well with good quartz on it.

Now they have enough to restock some supplies, and continue mining the season out some more. I showed them a few other spots to hit and we will see what their totals ring up to by end of season.

It was a lot of work for th 1/2 OZ but was fun, lots of stories. Hopefully bigger things to come. I'm off to Canada tonight! They are mining another day to top of the 1/2 oz total, and replace my little share I took.

High All!!
4theluvofgold came and straightened us out.We where struggling a bit to get much gold but with a few pointers and tips we where right on it. The gold is small but offers the occasional picker as well as a chance at small nuggets. If 1 guy solo suction dredged, with a 3" Keene he could, with hard work,on a good spot make anywhere from $120-$250 a day with a possibility to make more. 4theluv is the man and backed up what he said he could do.We came back to town to get more supplies to try and last another few months. Been raining on us about a week now but we are hanging in there. The water temp is about 47 degrees and the 7 mil wet suite is doing the trick though we could go through a pair of neoprene gloves a day working decaying bedrock. Here's some picks and I am taking video too.I would definitely recommend Peters Creek in Petersville AK. as a place for someone with a 4" or just someone looking to high bank. Also for someone just looking to pan. You can find a few specs in almost every pan.Very fun!

Much more to come.
