As a GPAA Member I know that I am have access to any GPAA claims. But what I dont know is what the rule of thumb is for bringing some of my friends that aren't members. They have the equipment, I have the membership. It works for both of us as long as it isn't against the rules.

Any thoughts out there?

Unfortunately nonmembers are relegated to panning only on gpaa claims.

GPAA claims guide also lists "open" areas that are public domain. So, check out whether the particular site you're interested in is public or private.

Now that would be a sight to see, considering I have no experiance with the equipment he has, you could sell the video of me trying to figure it all out too America's Funniest Home Video's. :D

It's a bummer that non-members are restricted to panning. That might put the kabosh on the whole deal. Im not sure how thrilled he would be to be relagated to sampling with a pan while I tried not to break his dredge or high banker. lol

It looks like we may be headed down to the North Fork of the John Day river. So we may not be using the GPAA claims after all. But have to be carefull, from some of what I have been reading there are area's where dredges arent aloud over there. Any idea's?? I think we are looking somewhere east of the Gold Dredge Camp Ground.
