Dole Road is down in Myrtle Creek, OR. You would want to go to the middle or bottom of this picture.

Most of the gold is 6-12" down on the gravel bars. Best of luck!

Take I-5 to exit 108(Myrtle Creek). exit and proceed across the bridge spanning the Umpqua River. When the road takes a sharp right turn into town, TURN LEFT onto dole road. Proceed for approximately 1/2 mile. You will cross the Railroad tracks within this 1/2 mile. After crossing the tracks you will see a pulloff on the river side within the next 1/2 mile. There are several roads from this point that lead to different parts of the river. All of this area is owned by the town of Myrtle Creek and open to prospecting. Please respect the property and carry out all of your trash. It also helps us if you take out more than you took in. It's not only the prospectors that are trashing the area but fishermen, picnicers, and partyers that use this area. Make it cleaner than you found it.

Actually, the top part (towards town) of the Dole Rd area is owned by the city and I have frequently met the local MC cops out there checking up on people (the MC cops have always been great to me). The bottom section (about 100ft below that big rock) is owned by a timber company and patroled by the State Police (generally). Although all of that area somewhat public, make sure you know where you are so you know whose property you trespassed (you want to say the city) to get there.

Daneil, Dole road looks good to go as far as the water level goes. the whole bar is open and ready to be worked. Sorry about the late post, been kind of busy today. If you are going to go down there on friday, I would suggest you get there early to get the spot you want. there were quite a few people there this afternoon when I went by.
