Re: Beach Dredging

The double standard is kind of weird, isn't it? It only gives validity to the idea that the restrictions have more to do with keeping the minerals out of our hands than it does saving the "environment". Either way, with Atkinson's bill seeming to bite the dust, you aren't facing jail time....

Re: How To Handle Minus 60 Gold Dust

I'm not lean, but what I use is a so-called "Finish" pan manufactured by Falcon. This is a very lightweight, thin, smooth pan without the drop bottom. There is also no lip on the edge of the pan to create any uncontrollable movement of water that would normally wash out the fine gold. Once...

Re: SB 765 might be dead

From what one of my well connected sources are saying, there is a rumor going around that the state capital's e-mail system was so buried by e-mails over this that it crashed the server. Not sure if that's true, but I'd like to think so. Either way, it does sound like the amount of e-mail and calls ...

Re: MINING CLAIM RESEARCH???

Get a copy of Prospector's Power Pack 2010 from the Arizona Gold forum. It is out of date info (maybe six months?), but plugs into Google Earth and will at least give you a rough idea of what's out there. Then use the identify feature on what is left of GeoComm and start clicking on each quarter. Ta...

Re: Beach Dredging

There seems to be a lot of different takes on what can and cannot be done on Oregon beaches. In some places there are no issues, while in others there are all these issues. Part of the reason is the fact that the ownership of these beaches (surface AND subsurface) are so convoluted that it's not eve...

Re: SB 765 might be dead

Once again, good on EVERYONE who wrote letters, e-mails or called about this, as well as helped to spread the word. It could not have been done without everyone pitching in. The next time something like this comes down and it seems like all hope is lost, remember that we were able to beat this. An e...

Re: SB 765 might be dead

From Dave McCracken a second ago ... Hi Guys, This just in from Tom Kitchar of Waldo Miners: GOOD NEWS FOR A CHANGE: Sen. Atkinson pulled his anti-recreational mining bill SB 765 today! His aid said they got way more opposition than they expected , plus all the legal questions the bill raised. Good ...

Re: SB 765 might be dead
